Overview

GPM Investments has an immediate opening for an elite Support Team member for a Tier 2 VeriFone POS Technician. This excellent opportunity includes a flexible schedule, remote work and superior growth potential with one of the fastest growing Petro / C-Store operators in the U.S. This job works on technical projects and several softwares to better support the POS units.

 

Pay rate:  $21.31 - $37.21

Responsibilities

• Supports T1 technicians as primary responsibility, as well as on-site technicians
• Understands basic network connectivity and topology
• Assist in the development of detailed scope of work, including technical
projects & documents
• Timely and Competently run Secure Reports (Store & Forward) and retrieve credit card
transactions for submission to processors for credit
• Demonstrate competency in “classic” support tasks, namely, assist in polling, support of
integrated peripherals (such as Western Union, LED price Signs, InComm, etc.), VnC
sessions for browser updates, etc.…
• Challenges third-party resources to provide a positive outcome and not just a
documented case # without resolve.
• Escalates as deemed necessary to maintain or exceed ticket SLA, both within the POS
team, as well as within the customer realm (SM, DM ROM, etc.…) and third-party support,
such as VeriFone, BP, Cybera, TNSi, etc.…
• Engages and documents all collaborative efforts
• Ownership in initiating VRSD staging & installation as necessary or appropriate
• Functional understanding of SMS users, roles, & functions
• Engages and uses with familiarity OEM and third-party software to better support the POS
unit(s) and the customer, for example, VeriFone Multi Site Password Tool

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year direct POS experience in an IT environment
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years field and/or desktop support experience for VeriFone Commander Point of Sale and VeriFone MX /M400 Pin pads. Strong IT and network acumen preferred.
  • Adheres to POS Team policies and procedures, both written and verbal
  • Operates within company defined policies and requirements
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of company and Team objectives
  • Consistent quality & quantity of work product
  • Understands petroleum c-store sales culture
  • Proficient in communicating with non-technical associates
  • Excellent work attendance
  • Willing to work all shifts and On-Call as required
  • Receives and adapts to new information and functionality quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision through to task completion
  • Clear sense of urgency
  • Ability to parse information from several sources to gain knowledge and complete
    objectives
  • Assumes leadership role above Tier 1s
  • Willingly accepts additional responsibility
