Overview

This position will be mainly responsible for conducting spend analysis, developing requests for proposal, creating and reviewing vendor contracts, negotiating and monitoring contract terms and developing supplier performance criteria and service level agreements.

 

Salary 50 to 70k 

Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager’s (“PM”) duties will include, but not be limited to:

 

Survey all departments and develop a needs list of commonly used items which will be competitively bid amongst many suppliers;

 

Develop and maintain a database of commonly used items, preferably with a joint effort between the PM and GPM’s IT department so as to enable said database to be both internal and public facing

 

Work closely with Regional Service Managers, Marketing and others as needed to develop proper specification(s) for item(s) being procured so that said item(s) serve function first and lowest total cost of ownership second

 

Develop and maintain an active landscaping and snow removal service provider program. Award according to lowest cost, have secondary and even tertiary substitutes in the event of service or other failures. Review, process or process hold all land and snow invoices in a timely manner. Work with operations and other departments to always actively solicit contractors. Reduce the spend for this category year over year. Manage land and snow contractors throughout each season, including after-hours calls for snow emergencies

 

Maintain GPM’s corporate warehouse in an organized and safe manner. This will include the use of a folk lift, for which the operator must be safety-certified.

 

Assist in processing maintenance and repair invoices.

 

Assist in upkeep of the Heat™ database both for Assignees as well as physical assets.

Qualifications

  • The Procurement Manager must possess excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical skills, be a self-starter as well as be a team player with the ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic sourcing and financial analysis skills
  • Understanding of business negotiation and legal processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis for creating Request for Proposals (“RFP”) and Request for Quote (“RFQ”)
  • Understanding of general supply chain management policies and procedures
    • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
    • Project planning and implementation skills
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
    Database management skills, Access and/or SQL (preferred)
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Folk Lift Safety Certification
    • Proof of insurance
    Access to motorized vehicle
