Responsibilities

Deli Operations & Food Service

  • Lead deli team in preparing and serving hot and cold food items with quality, safety, and presentation in mind.
  • Monitor food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards in all deli areas.
  • Order, receive, and organize deli inventory to ensure consistent stock levels.
  • Engage customers with a friendly demeanor, product knowledge, and enthusiasm for daily specials and promotions.
  • Maintain attractive food displays and ensure proper labeling and packaging.

Leadership & Store Support

  • Support the Store Manager in all aspects of daily store and deli operations.
  • Act as manager-on-duty when the Store Manager is off shift.
  • Train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service and drive upsell opportunities.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling deli and store staff.
  • Perform cash handling duties, bank deposits, and manage shift financials accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and food safety regulations.

Facility Management

  • Maintain a clean, welcoming store environment, including restrooms, trash disposal, and outside areas.
  • Accept and verify vendor deliveries with attention to detail and accuracy.

Other Duties

  • Be adaptable and ready to take on any role or task to support store success.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Store Management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age:
    • 18+ years old in AR, CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, and CO
    • 21+ years old in all other states
  • Experience: 1+ year in a food service or retail leadership role preferred.
  • Availability: Open to working weekends, holidays, second, or third shifts.
  • Communication: Proficient in English with strong customer service and basic math skills.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance for deposit runs.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform cleaning tasks, and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Screenings: Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Willingness to Learn: Participate in company-provided training programs, including Topshelf Manager Training in Tennessee.
