Assist the Payroll Manager in day-to-day functions of the Payroll department.  These duties include updating employee records in Payroll system, performing payroll calculations and reviewing payroll data, and responding to inquiries from the field regarding payroll.  Identify and implement process improvements for Payroll department.  Backup Payroll Manager for processing and submitting weekly payroll.  Handle escalated issues for resolution.


  • Process employee record changes (pay increases, promotions, demotions, transfers, etc.) and ensure accuracy of employee records with any applicable updates
  • Route inbound communication to Payroll department to appropriate staff member for handling
  • Enter/update employee garnishment information
  • Respond to inquiries from Operations and Corporate personnel
  • Review payroll processes and identify/implement improvements and efficiencies
  • Act as backup to Payroll Manager
  • Comply with all government regulatory policies, internal policies and procedures


  • High school diploma
  • At least 5 years of payroll experience
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Dependable and detail-oriented
  • Highest regard for confidentiality
  • Overtime and holiday working hours will be required at times to ensure timely processing of payroll
